Site Update

Start making custom blinkies and gif doohickies that I don't know what the names are. I'll be adding guestbooks soon. If I were to take the view number seriously, I'm getting 500 views —

Wait,

But, seriously, I should be considered creating guestbooks soon. Even though those views could be just bot views.

Why the Website Name?

Firstly, why "ebblinlorre-dd8da" as this site's subdomain namesake? Aside that ebblin have been mulling about what username or domain name should anyone used has proven rather difficult. In this blog will detail the choices and thought process for choosing this namesake.

The ebblinlorre-dd8da Part

Ebblin is an anagram for "nibble". The mouth action that makes that "nom" onomatopoeia. It also sounded like Evelyn, I find it quirky, and thus I chose it.

Funnily enough, I have the thought to make an anagram for "nimble", as I would describe to any characters or persona I'd like to use in any of my online forums. Although, There's no "m" in Ebblin.

I could have been "Emblin", but that sounds borderline a goblin name. Would you believe me that my banner used to say "Ebblin ze Gobblin"? I rather settle with the satyr for the website's mascot / persona.

The ebblinlorre-dd8da Part

Not to give away anything much, I take affinity in the second name "Lorre". Initially, it should have been the word "Lorem", as in that Lorem ipsum copypasta that I've been seeing a lot as a placeholder name.

Hmm... Should have gone with Lorelei tbh.

The ebblinlorre-dd8da Part

This might be the more complicated part of my chosen subdomain name. The random gibbergabber texts after the hyphen emulate those YouTube username after creating a Channel Name, or when signing up to Redd*t it gives you random 4 numbers.

I know some will find it ugly, or should have gone with just numbers. I really get that. I think my reason is that I would want my website, my obscure corner of the internet, to be more obscure. People tend to get names wrong with complicated names such as this.

Think of it as the opposite of SEO — an anti-SEO. Making it only through links and bookmark would people able to frequent my website.

Another thing is despite this being a personal blog: I will be, in any day, ready to abandon it or disassociate with it. I also have this indifferent sentiment about shedding an online identity. Because everything to me is temporary. While Ebblin is me, I am not entirely ebblin.

You, or just me speaking, would be thinking:

| Wow, so making this blogsite would be pointless.

Come on, now. That sounded a bit pessimistic. While I may not be Ebblin in a... forseeable future, I really like journaling all the things that interest me in the Internet. Capital "i" Internet. I have this mantra of not attaching my entire being to the online webspace no matter if it's social media, or to an obscure project such as this.

My bond with people online entirely will never be fake. I treasure those who cared about me, and keep close to those who have different views as me.

TL;DR

Ebblin is my chosen name, Lorre is a second to my identity, while the random gibberish letters just so happen to be my anti-SEO method and make it hard for people to find my space unless they really are interested in my blogsite.

Also, I'm just quirky like that. :P
